From big construction..
to small scientific props...
for the TV and film industry.
I have been designing and building specialist props for TV programs for 7 years. I come from a woodworking background, having served an apprenticeship as a Joiner/Carpenter at a Shipyard in Barrow-in-Furness. After 5 years of Art training, specialising in Animation, I entered the media industry. I have a broad knowledge of most construction and engineering techniques and have worked on many groundbreaking and influential TV shows. Here is a collection of photos of my most recent builds.
Building of large props with special effects in mind.
Reconstruction of Egyptian burial boat. It wasn't necessarily supposed to float, but it did, just! Experimental Archaeology.
A set of electrical kitchen utensils, for a food show with a difference! The future of food preparation?
A concrete dome, formed around a huge rubber ball. Experts told me it wouldn't work, I was always certain it would!
Ancient Roman Crane, over 6m high. The load is130kgs and the crane is bending more than it looks. I was worried!
